Is the Bible reliable Part 3 (Believe) by Pastor Yayo

THINK ON THIS:

We all have a source of faith. Even the most pessimistic person among us has complete faith in many things. We put faith in our legs to support us when we stand up. We have faith in a chair when we sit down. We believe that when we breathe in, there will be enough oxygen to fill out our lungs and keep us alive. We have faith that the world will keep rotating so that morning will arrive when we go to sleep. Because of their historical dependability, we have chosen to put our faith in these things. We make the decision to have faith because, otherwise, we would always be afraid and uncertain.

But Jesus immediately said to them: Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.” “Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.” “Come,” he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!” Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?” Matthew 14:27-31 (NIV)

THINK ON THIS:

This is a story of trust and faith. Peter was able to walk on water because he knew that Jesus was reliable; he trusted. Also, just like Peter we will have our moments of doubt allowing us to see Jesus reaching to save us from our own doubts. That is why faith and trust will help us see that The Bible is reliable. In the end, God has granted each of us the ability to choose our own beliefs. But He has also left His mark on every aspect of His creation, and He has also provided us with a guidebook so that we can live (Psalm 19:1; 119:11; 1 Peter 2:11–12). We have enough proof that His Word is trustworthy, and those who do so have a firm foundation on which to construct their lives (see Matthew 7:24–28). All we need to do is believe that The Bible is reliable.

  ¿Es confiable la Biblia? Parte 3 (Creer)

  PIENSA EN ESTO:

  Todos tenemos una fuente de fe. Incluso la persona más pesimista entre nosotros tiene una fe completa en muchas cosas. Confiamos en nuestras piernas para que nos apoyen cuando nos ponemos de pie. Tenemos fe en una silla cuando nos sentamos. Creemos que cuando inhalamos, habrá suficiente oxígeno para llenar nuestros pulmones y mantenernos con vida. Tenemos fe en que el mundo seguirá girando para que llegue la mañana cuando nos vayamos a dormir. Debido a su confiabilidad histórica, hemos optado por poner nuestra fe en estas cosas. Tomamos la decisión de tener fe porque, de lo contrario, siempre estaríamos temerosos e inseguros.

  PIENSA EN ESTO:

  Esta es una historia de confianza y fe. Pedro pudo caminar sobre el agua porque sabía que Jesús era confiable; y el confiaba, al igual que Pedro, tendremos nuestros momentos de duda permitiéndonos ver a Jesús llegando a salvarnos de nuestras propias dudas. Es por eso por lo que la fe y la confianza nos ayudarán a ver que la Biblia es confiable. Al final, Dios nos ha concedido a cada uno de nosotros la capacidad de elegir nuestras propias creencias. Pero también ha dejado Su huella en cada aspecto de Su creación, y también nos ha proporcionado una guía para que podamos vivir (Salmo 19:1; 119:11; 1 Pedro 2:11–12). Tenemos pruebas suficientes de que Su Palabra es digna de confianza, y quienes lo hacen tienen un fundamento firme sobre el cual edificar su vida (véase Mateo 7:24–28). Todo lo que necesitamos hacer es creer que la Biblia es confiable.
