Baptism is a public way to tell others about the decision you made to start a personal relationship with Jesus and to follow Him.

Baptism is not salvation; it symbolizes and celebrates the decision you made to accept Jesus’s free gift of salvation.

Jesus was baptized and we follow His example of obedience.

Because the word baptize comes from the Greek word baptizo which means to “immerse or submerge” and because the baptisms that we see in the Bible are done by immersion, here at The Mount we believe that every person who is physically able, should be fully submerged in baptism.

Kids need to be old enough to understand the decision that they have made for Jesus and be able to talk about their salvation story. They need to understand the difference between salvation and baptism and want to show others in a public way that he/she has decided to follow Jesus.
