THINK ON THIS:

As we continue reading through Habakkuk, notice that God does not chastise Habakkuk for asking the hard questions. God does indeed answer Habakkuk, but with something that seems completely foreign and goes beyond what was most likely expected. Instead of bringing deliverance, God is bringing the sword.

How often do we think we know what is best and what is needed in a given instance? We think we know what is best and no longer trust in or wait on the Lord. Maybe you, like me, have often found yourself out in front of God or even rebelling against Him because we believe our plan is best. How often have we even neglected to seek God’s wisdom and discernment in our lives and the lives of those closest to us? Instead, we rest within our knowledge and then question God when situations are unresolved to our standard. We all must be mindful that it is God who moves according to HIS plan. God also works for what is best in the lives of all believers—even when we don’t understand.

APPLY:

• Recall a situation you attempted to move out on under your own wisdom that failed. Was it your plan or was it God’s? Be honest.
• Recall a time when you knew intuitively knew what to do BUT it was an action or thought that seemed foreign to your character (i.e. “I would not have done it normally that way). Was it the Holy Spirit that was speaking with you and working through you?
• If you find yourself continually/repeatedly in situations/predicaments that bring you harm (i.e. doing the same thing over and over again, hoping this time it will be different), next time, seek God’s wisdom not your own.

PIENSA EN ESTO:

A medida que continuamos leyendo Habacuc, observe que Dios no castiga a Habacuc por hacer preguntas difíciles. De hecho, Dios responde a Habacuc, pero con algo que parece completamente extraño y va más allá de lo que probablemente se esperaba. En lugar de traer liberación, Dios trae la espada.

¿Con qué frecuencia pensamos que sabemos qué es lo mejor y qué se necesita ser en un caso determinado? Creemos que sabemos qué es lo mejor y ya no confiamos ni esperamos en el Señor. Tal vez usted, como yo, a menudo se ha encontrado frente a Dios o incluso se ha rebelado contra Él porque creemos que nuestro plan es el mejor. ¿Con qué frecuencia hemos descuidado buscar la sabiduría y el discernimiento de Dios en nuestras vidas y en las vidas de aquellos más cercanos a nosotros? En cambio, descansamos en nuestro conocimiento y luego cuestionamos a Dios cuando las situaciones no se resuelven según nuestro estándar. Todos debemos ser conscientes de que es Dios quien se mueve según SU plan. Dios también obra por lo mejor en la vida de todos los creyentes, incluso cuando no lo entendemos.

APPLICACIÓN:

• Recuerde una situación que intentó superar con su propia sabiduría y que fracasó. ¿Fue tu plan o fue el de Dios? Se honesto.
• Recuerda un momento en el que intuitivamente sabías qué hacer PERO era una acción o pensamiento que parecía extraño a tu personaje (es decir, “normalmente no lo habría hecho de esa manera). ¿Fue el Espíritu Santo el que hablaba contigo y obraba a través de ti?
• Si te encuentras continuamente/repetidamente en situaciones que te hacen daño (es decir, hacer lo mismo una y otra vez, esperando que esta vez sea diferente), la próxima vez busca la sabiduría de Dios, no la tuya.
