My entire life was in your thoughts

Just as a mother toils, predicting the future, to cover her child’s way
Not only did you think of my good future, but you secured it within reality
My life is your life
No mistake could have ever thwarted the plan that you made

Oh Dear God,
You are not bound to mere man’s limits,
You don’t guess the future. You make it so.
You don’t just plant with Faith, you make it grow
You speak and it is done
You will, and it is spun
The future may have been hidden from us
But to you, it is simply a tool for your majestic construction.

Before my earth was ever formed
You spoke that it was good
And even when my earth became poisoned,
you still called my life good

Because the separation tearing us apart
Would not last forever
Before my eyes could see my healing
You foresaw us back together

And so like a plant stretches to the sun
Thank you that I get to draw to you
And just as the sun sparks life within the branches and trees
Thank you that I am made of you

Just as roots grow deep and strong in the soil,
May I fall deeper in your love, Abba
And just as tree limbs stretch out from the vine,
I will abide in you
