For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God. (John 3:16-21, NIV)

THINK ON THIS:

As one looks at the whole of Scripture, two recurring themes are prevalent: God’s missional purpose and God’s great love for humanity. God is constantly moving toward a relationship with every person motivated by His great love. As you read today’s verses, if you doubt the depths of God’s love for you, it is acceptable, appropriate and healing to replace “the world” with your name (Jn. 3:16). Understand, God IS speaking to you! These words are life giving and apply to each of us—regardless of how far any of us have strayed. There is no need to shy-away from God, Jesus, or the Holy Spirit. He knew and knows all our shortcomings and yet offers life to ALL. Armed with this truth, confidently step into the light and bask in the Son who loves you!

REFLECT:

• What in your life still needs to be brought into the light? What do you still want to hide in the dark? Today, bring it out of the shadows and darkness and present it to Him. Know this…He is fully aware of “it,” He simply wants to free you from the burden of “it.”

Porque tanto amó Dios al mundo que dio a su Hijo unigénito, para que todo el que cree en él no se pierda, sino que tenga vida eterna. Dios no envió a su Hijo al mundo para condenar al mundo, sino para salvarlo por medio de él. El que cree en él no es condenado, pero el que no cree ya está condenado por no haber creído en el nombre del Hijo unigénito de Dios. Esta es la causa de la condenación: que la luz vino al mundo, pero la humanidad prefirió las tinieblas a la luz, porque sus hechos eran perversos. Pues todo el que hace lo malo aborrece la luz, y no se acerca a ella por temor a que sus obras queden al descubierto. En cambio, el que practica la verdad se acerca a la luz, para que se vea claramente que ha hecho sus obras en obediencia a Dios. (Juan 3:16-21 NVI)

PIENSA EN ESTO:

Cuando uno mira toda la Escritura, prevalecen dos temas recurrentes: el propósito misional de Dios y el gran amor de Dios por la humanidad. Dios está constantemente moviéndose hacia una relación con cada persona motivada por Su gran amor. Mientras lees los versículos de hoy, si dudas de la profundidad del amor de Dios por ti, es aceptable, apropiado y sanador reemplazar “el mundo” con tu nombre (Juan 3:16). Entienda, ¡Dios le ESTÁ hablando! Estas palabras son dadoras de vida y se aplican a cada uno de nosotros, independientemente de lo lejos que nos hayamos desviado. No hay necesidad de alejarse de Dios, Jesús o el Espíritu Santo. Él conocía y conoce todas nuestras deficiencias y, sin embargo, ofrece vida a TODOS. ¡Armado con esta verdad, da un paso confiado hacia la luz y disfruta del Hijo que te ama!

REFLEJAR:

• ¿Qué en tu vida todavía necesita ser sacado a la luz? ¿Qué es lo que todavía quieres esconder en la oscuridad? Hoy, sácalo de las tinieblas y de la oscuridad y preséntaselo. Sepa esto… Él es plenamente consciente de “eso”, simplemente quiere liberarlo de la carga de “eso”.
