Profile of The Mount // The Mount Church was founded in 1907 in Stafford Virginia when there weren’t any paved roads! Started by just a few families, the Mount has grown to over 3000 in attendance across 3 physical locations and a campus online. The Mount Church is a growing multi-ethnic church that has been called to make a difference for one more.

General

Under the leadership of the Executive Director of Engagement, the Director of Missions and Outreach will serve the church by overseeing both international missions and local outreach projects. This position involves managing all outreach strategies, developing meaningful service opportunities, as well as training and empowering qualified volunteers to fulfill the mission and vision of The Mount.

• Has proven experience leading and developing staff and volunteer teams
• Is a self-starter who likes to make things happen
• Is hard working, but loves to have fun and connect with The Mount family
• Is a visionary, yet able to identify and implement the steps required to achieve the vision
• Is a good communicator with staff, volunteers, and international and local organizations
• Is flexible and able to adapt as situations arise
• Has at least 5 years of experience in leadership positions demonstrating increased complexity and responsibility

Personal Responsibilities

Local Impact

• Work closely with our Directional Team in developing meaningful outlets for church members to serve the city of Stafford and surrounding area
• Create an assessment strategy that accurately tracks the local mission engagement of our members
• Maintain and develop strategic partnerships with local non-profits, community organizers, and churches
• Evaluate community based needs to help inform decisions about community involvement
• Oversee recruitment and promotional efforts regarding church-wide service opportunities
• Evaluate and determine the direction and viability of past and potential future ministries
• Regularly evaluate all activities in the Missions Ministry to ensure theological soundness, effectiveness, and philosophical alignment
• Create additional church-wide service opportunities

• Organize mission trips all around the world
• Evaluate current relationships and determine viability of mission
• Evaluate future opportunities for global missions
• Work with missionaries associated with The Mount to determine needs and support as necessary
• Other duties as assigned
